† melanagogue Med. Obs. Also erron. 8 melano-. [a. F. mélanagogue, f. Gr. µελαν-, µέλας black + ἀγωγός leading, drawing.] A medicine supposed to expel ‘black bile’. Hence † melanaˈgogal a., having the property of expelling ‘black bile’.
