mainmortable, a. and n. Hist.|meɪnˈmɔːtəb(ə)l| [a. F. mainmortable, f. mainmorte: see prec.] A. adj. Applied to serfs (in France) who were not at liberty to alienate their possessions if they died childless; also to their possessions.
