† magdaleon Pharmacy. Obs. [ad. med.L. magdaleōn-em, magdaleo (whence F. magdaléon, 16th c.), also magdalium, f. Gr. µαγδαλιά, dough or bread-crumb (Galen), later form of ἀποµαγδαλιά soft bread to wipe one's hands upon at table, f. ἀποµάσσειν to wipe.] A cylindrical roll of plaster, salve, or any medicinal substance.
