anoxygenic, a. Biol.|æˌnɒksɪˈdʒɛnɪk| [an- 10 + oxygenic a.] That lacks or does not produce oxygen; spec. designating or pertaining to a type of photosynthesis, occurring in certain bacteria, which does not generate oxygen.
