Longmyndian, a. Geol.|lɒŋˈmɪndɪən| [f. Long Mynd (see def.) + -ian.] Applied to a thick series of non-fossiliferous sedimentary rocks in the west Midlands, now believed to be of Pre-Cambrian age, whose main outcrop forms the hills of the Long Mynd in southern Shropshire (Salop). Also absol.
