animatic, n.|ænɪˈmætɪk| [f. animated ppl. a. + -ic (or possibly a blend with schematic n.).] A preliminary or test version of a film, esp. of an advertising commercial, produced by shooting successive sections of a storyboard and adding a soundtrack.
