Xavante|ʃəˈvæntiː| Also Chavante, Shavante. [a. Port., of uncertain origin.] a. (A member of) any of several groups of semi-nomadic Indians of the interior savanna of central and east-central Brazil, esp. the Akwẽ-Xavante. b. The Ge language of the Akwẽ-Xavante, or the language of any group called Xavante. Also attrib. as adj.
