xanthous, a. Ethnol.|ˈzænθəs| [f. Gr. ξανθός yellow + -ous.] Applied to those races, or that type, of mankind characterized by yellow or yellowish hair and light complexion; fair, blond. Also said of the hair, complexion, etc. Opp. to melanic 1, melanous.
