Leboyer Obstetr.|ləbwaje| The name of Frédérick Leboyer (b. 1918), French obstetrician, used attrib. and absol. with reference to the manner of childbirth advocated by him (in Birth without Violence (1975)), involving gentle delivery and handling with minimum intervention and minimum stimulation of the baby.
