angiocarpous, a. Bot.|-ˈkɑːpəs| [f. mod.L. angīocarp-us (f. angio- + καρπ-ός fruit) + -ous. Cf. Fr. angiocarpe.] Having the fruit in an envelope not constituting part of the calyx. Also, having the apothecium enclosed within the thallus, as certain lichens.
