Used allusively (chiefly attrib.) to refer to the Archbishop of Canterbury, whose palace is at Lambeth, or to the Church of England; esp. in Lambeth Conference, an assembly of the Anglican bishops, usu. held decennially at Lambeth Palace; Lambeth degree, a degree honoris causa conferred by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
