† wlaffe, v. Obs. [OE. wlaffian, of imitative origin. Cf. ME. blaffere, blaffoorde ‘traulus’ (Promp. Parv. 37).] intr. To stammer; to speak indistinctly. Hence † ˈwlaffer, † ˈwlaffing vbl. n. and ppl. a. Also † ˈwlaffering vbl. n. (? erron.).
