A member of an Indian agricultural caste.

Koonbee is a term, which is given, whatever be his profession or occupation, to the pure Sooder or first of the fourth class, who are, in Guzerat for the most part, Cultivators of the Land. This title, in the Deccan distinguishes the Cultivator, from him, who wears arms, and prefers to be called a Mahratta. 1826W. B.
