koelreuteria|køːlrɔɪˈtɪərɪə| [mod.L. (E. Laxmann 1772, in Nov. Comm. Acad. Sci. Imp. Petrop. XVI. 561), f. the name of Joseph G. Koelreuter (1733–1806), German naturalist + -ia1.] A deciduous tree of the east Asian genus so called, belonging to the family Sapindaceæ, esp. K. paniculata, from northern China, which has large panicles of yellow flowers and pinnate leaves which turn bright yellow in autumn.
