karyology Biol.|kærɪˈɒlədʒɪ| [f. karyo- + -logy.] a. The distinctive or characteristic features (esp. as regards chromosomes) of a particular cell nucleus, or of the nuclei of a particular species, strain, etc. b. The study of cell nuclei, esp. the chromosomes they contain.
