Johansson|jəʊˈhænsən| Also erron. Johannson, Johannsen. The name of Carl E. Johansson, 20th-century Swedish armaments inspector, used attrib. to designate a type of steel block originated by him which is made with flat, parallel faces and of a designated length to a high degree of accuracy, and forms one of a set of different sizes used in making up standard lengths.
