‖ isoteles Anc. Gr. Hist.|aɪˈsɒtɪliːz| [Gr. ἰσοτελής paying equal taxes, f. ἴσος equal + τέλος, τελε- tax, etc.] One of a favoured class of metœci or resident aliens at Athens, ‘who enjoyed all civic rights except those of a political nature’ (Liddell & Scott). So isotely |aɪˈsɒtɪlɪ| [ad. Gr. ἰσοτέλεια], the condition of an isoteles.
