amphometer, n. Austral.|æmˈfɒmɪtə(r)| [f. amph- (prob. f. m.p.h. s.v. M 6, with arbitrary a- prefixed) + -ometer.] A device for measuring the speed of vehicles passing over the stretch of road on which it is installed.
