involucel Bot.|ɪnˈvɒljuːsɛl| Formerly -ell. [ad. mod.L. involūcellum, (also in Eng. use), dim. of involucrum. Cf. F. involucelle (Littré).] A whorl of bracts surrounding one of the divisions in an inflorescence; a partial or secondary involucre. (α) in L. form involucellum.
