wairakite Min.|ˈwaɪərəkaɪt| [f. Wairakei, name of a place in New Zealand + -ite1.] A hydrous silicate of calcium and aluminium, CaAl2Si4O12.2H2O, the calcium analogue of analcime, that occurs as colourless to white monoclinic crystals and is common in low-grade metamorphic rocks.
