‖ Ametabola, n. pl. Zool.|æmɪˈtæbələ| [prop. mod.L. adj. pl. neut. (sc. insecta), a. Gr. ἀµετάβολα pl. neut. of ἀµετάβολος, f. ἀ priv. + µετάβολος changeable.] A sub-class of Insects, consisting of those such as the Lice and Spring-tails, which do not undergo metamorphosis.
