Ambu, n. Med.|ˈæmbuː, ˈæmbjuː| Also ambu. [Sortened form of ambulance n. or Da. ambulance.] A proprietary name for a type of resuscitator consisting of a face mask connected by a valve to a self-inflating bag, which, when squeezed, inflates the patient's lungs with air or oxygen. Usu. attrib. in Ambu bag.
