vagini- comb. f. of L. vāgīna sheath (see vagino-) in a few scientific terms, as vaginiform adj.; vaginiglutæus, a muscle acting upon the sheath of the thigh; also vaginigluteal adj.; † vaginipennous a., of beetles, having the wings covered with a sheath; coleopterous. A few other instances of scientific or technical usage are given in some recent Dicts., as vaginicoline, vaginicolous, vaginiferous, vaginipennate adjs.
