‖ hæmoptysis Path.|hiːˈmɒptɪsɪs| [mod.L. f. hæmo- + πτύσις spitting, f. πτύ-ειν to spit.] Spitting of blood; expectoration of blood, or of bloody mucus, etc., from the lungs or bronchi.
