‖ glissé Ballet.|glise| [F., pa. pple. of glisser to slide.] A sliding step in which the flat of the foot is often used; also pas glissé. Cf. glissade 2.
1913C. d'Albert Dancing 78 Glissades Glissés. These steps are used both in stage and ballroom movements. The foot can glide in any direction. By the term pas glissé is understood a step sideways and a gliding of the other foot. Temps glissé is made by raising on both feet, fall back on one foot and glide the other in any direction. 1953E.
