‖ hypospadias Path.|hɪpəʊˈspeɪdɪəs, haɪpəʊ-| [a. Gr. ὑποσπαδίας (Galen) one affected with hypospadias, app. f. ὑπό hypo- 1 + σπάειν to draw.] A congenital malformation consisting in a fissure of the lower wall of the male urethra, the result of arrested development.

Org. 38 Hypospadias consists of an arrest of development of a portion of the lower wall of the urethra. 1884Athenæum 17 May 636/1 He has recorded the occurrence of the malformation termed hypospadias in the males of six successive generations in one family.
