hosier|ˈhəʊʒ(ɪ)ə(r), ˈhəʊzɪə(r)| Forms: 5 hoseer, hoseare, hoseȝere, hosiare, hoser, (hosyrer), 5–6 hosyer, 8 hozier, 6– hosier. [f. hose n. + -ier.] One who makes or deals in hose (stockings and socks) and frame-knitted or woven underclothing generally. Also used more generally for a men's outfitter or haberdasher.
