Hooverize, v. U.S.|ˈhuːvəraɪz| [f. the name of Herbert C. Hoover (1874–1964), food commissioner 1917–19, and President of the U.S. 1929–33 + -ize.] intr. To be sparing or economical, esp. in the use of food.
