A set of strata dipping throughout in the same general direction; esp. one over which the angle of dip is more or less uniform.
1915R. A. Daly in Geol. Survey Canada Mem. lxviii. 53 For convenience the word ‘homocline’ will here be used as a general name for any block of bedded rocks all dipping in the same direction... A ‘homocline’ may be a monocline, an isocline, a tilted fault-block, or one limb of anticline or syncline.1942M. P. Billings Struct. Geol. iii. 42 The term homocline..may be applied to strata that dip in one direction at a uniform angle.
