Allophylian, a. and n.|æləʊˈfɪlɪən| [f. L. allophȳl-us (see prec.) + -ian.] A term introduced by Prichard to designate the languages of Asia and Europe, which are neither Aryan nor Semitic; sometimes extended to all the languages of the world outside these families, sometimes made equivalent to ‘Turanian.’ A. adj.
