1828Webster cites Jrnl. Sci. 1871–2H. Macmillan True Vine iii. 110 Examples of heterophyllous and dimorphic plants, in which there is a very considerable difference in form in the same organs, not only at different times, but even simultaneously. 1882Vines Sachs' Bot. 467 The leaves of the heterophyllous species which have them arranged in four rows, possess stomata on their inner surface.
