hair band, n.2 Music slang (chiefly depreciative). Brit. |ˈhɛː band|, U.S. |ˈhɛr ˌbænd| [‹ hair n. + band n.3] A hard rock or heavy metal band of a type characterized by the dyed or permed long hair and flamboyant dress of its members.
