ˈoverbite Dentistry. [over- 8 (?).] The overlapping of the lower teeth, esp. the incisors, by the corresponding upper teeth; now usu. confined to overlap in a vertical direction. Cf. overjet.

Dentistry II. 487 It will be found in 95 per cent. of cases that the upper teeth project over the lower, and that the depth of overbite varies as the depth of the cusps of the bicuspids are deep or shallow. 1924T.
