Grolier|grolje, ˈgrəʊlɪə(r)| Name of a famous French book-collector, Jean Grolier de Servin, Vicomte d'Aiguisy (1479–1565), used attrib. to designate the interlacing geometrical designs which adorn the bindings of his books. Also absol., a Grolier binding. So Grolier Club (see quot. 1960). Hence Grolieˈresque a. (also absol.).
