glycyphyllin Chem.|glaɪ-, glɪsɪˈfɪlɪn| [f. mod.L. glycyphyll-a, epithet of a species of Smilax, f. Gr. γλυκύ-ς sweet + ϕύλλ-ον leaf + -in1.] A rhamnoside, known only from Smilax glycyphylla, having phloretin as the aglycone.
