tzimmes|ˈtsɪməs| Also tsimmes, -is; tzimmas, -is, -us; (t)zimes. Pl. same. [a. Yiddish tsimes of obscure origin.] A stew or casserole of sweetened vegetables or vegetables and fruit, sometimes with meat. Also fig., a fuss, a confused affair.
