‖ gasteropoda, gastropoda, n. pl. Zool.|gæstəˈrɒpədə, gæˈstrɒpədə| [mod.L., f. Gr. γαστ(ε)ρ(ο)-, γαστήρ stomach, + ποδ-, πούς foot.] A class or group of molluscs (including the snails, limpets, etc.), so called from the ventral position of the locomotive organ.
