[ad. Gr. γαστρολογία, the title of a poem quoted by Athenæus (also γαστρονοµία), f. γαστρο-, γαστήρ stomach + λόγος discourse.]
The science of catering for the stomach; hence, cookery, good eating. Similarly gaˈstrologer, one versed in gastrology. gastroˈlogical a., of or pertaining to gastrology. gaˈstrologist = gastrologer.
