‖ tryma Bot.|ˈtraɪmə| [mod.L. (Necker), ad. Gr. τρῦµα or τρῡ́µη hole, f. τρύειν to rub down, wear out.] A fruit resembling a drupe, but formed from an originally compound ovary, and having an ultimately dehiscent fleshy or fibrous exocarp, as the walnut and coco-nut; a kind of drupaceous nut.
