tropidine Chem.|ˈtrɒpɪdaɪn| [Arbitrary formation from tropine.] A colourless oily alkaloid obtained from tropine by the action of acids. So troˈpilidine, a liquid hydrocarbon, C7H8, obtained by the dry distillation of tropine with quicklime (Webster, 1911).
