A genre of dance music, usually slow in tempo, that combines elements of hip-hop (esp. rapping and scratching) with softer, more melodic elements, often including ambient, psychedelic sounds, various special effects borrowed from dub reggae, and oblique or allusive (rather than polemical) lyrics.
