A genre of dance music, usually slow in tempo, that combines elements of hip-hop (esp. rapping and scratching) with softer, more melodic elements, often including ambient, psychedelic sounds, various special effects borrowed from dub reggae, and oblique or allusive (rather than polemical) lyrics. Also attrib.
