‖ frænum, frenum|ˈfriːnəm| Pl. fræna, frena. [L. frēnum, frænum, bridle.] 1. Anat. A small ligament or membranous fold which bridles or restrains the motion of the organ to which it is attached; e.g. that of the tongue.
