Appended chiefly to nouns to form adjs. (after user-friendly adj. s.v. user n.1 5); having the sense ‘adapted, designed, or suitable for (the first element)’ or ‘safe for or not harmful to (the first element)’, as in environment-friendly adj. s.v. *environment n. 3, and in the nonce examples below.
