[ad. med.L. tran(s)sumpt-um transcript (Du Cange), f. ppl. stem of L. tran(s)sūmĕre (see prec.). Cf. OF. transumpt (15th c. in Godef.).]
A copy, transcript; spec. a copy of a record, deed, or other legal document; an exemplification. (Chiefly in Sc. legal use from 16th c. to c 1870.) Hence, action or decree of transumpt.
