toxocara Vet. Sci.|tɒksəʊˈkærə| [mod.L. (C. W. Stiles 1905, in Bull. Bur. Animal Industry (U.S. Dept. Agric.) No. 79. 150), f. toxo-1 + Gr. κάρα head.] a. A nematode worm of the genus of this name, which includes species parasitic in cats and dogs; also in pl. sense. b. = toxocariasis.
