Toarcian, a. (n.) Geol.|təʊˈɑːsɪən| [ad. F. Toarcien, f. L. Toarcium, F. Thouars, in western France.] Applied to a series of strata corresponding in position to the Upper Lias of England, which are extensively developed in Central and Southern France.
