tiˈtanic, a.2 [f. mod.L. titani-um + -ic 1 b.] Of, pertaining to, or derived from titanium; in Chem. applied to compounds in which titanium has its higher valence, as titanic oxide (t. acid), a white tasteless powder, TiO2. In Min., titanic iron-ore = ilmenite; titanic schorl = rutile.
