ˈfaggoting, vbl. n. [f. as prec. + -ing1.] 1. The action of the vb. faggot.
1837W. B. Adams Eng. Pleas. Carriages vii. 107 The best axle-trees are formed of several flat bars of iron welded together in a mass, which process is technically called ‘faggoting’. 2. In Embroidery. The process by which a number of threads in the material are drawn out and a few of the cross threads tied together in the middle. Hence, the work done in this manner.
