1399in Archæol. XXI. 89 Hit was a eyrer good & able, to his lord ryȝt profitable. 1486Bk. St. Albans B vij a, How a man shall take an hawke fro the Eyrer. Who so takys an hawke from the Eyerer: hym behoueth to doo wisely. 1494Act 11 Hen. VII, c. 17 That no Man take any Ayrer Faulcon..nor purposely drive them out of their Coverts..to cause them to go to other Coverts to breed.
