thioredoxin, n. Biochem.|ˌθaɪəʊrɪˈdɒksɪn| [f. thio- + redox n. + -in1.] Any of several globular proteins, containing sulphur in the form of the sulphydryl groups of cysteine, which participate in intracellular electron-transfer processes.
